Geological Hazard Assessment of Secondary Collapses Due to Volcanic Earthquakes on Changbai Mountain in China

چکیده

In recent years, the volcanic activity of Changbai Mountain has been accompanied by several earthquakes, and frequent human engineering activities have led to a gradual increase in number collapses region, which severely impacts residents’ lives property safety. northeastern China, area southeastern Jilin Province is typical mountain environment. This paper selects 12 evaluation indicators build hazard assessment system, including slope, aspect, elevation, curvature, lithology, NDVI, land use type, distance from fault, river road, earthquake, annual average precipitation. Using emotional weight (G1 method) objective (WOE-CV method), due study evaluated too. Among them, transcendence probability earthquakes greater than VI degree represents relationship between geological collapse hazard. The results show that high- very high-hazard areas are mainly distributed densely populated national provincial trunk lines, with apparent spatial agglomeration characteristics. low-hazard area, medium-hazard accounted for 19.33%, 44.19%, 33.85% 2.63% total respectively. By comparing previous survey reports zoning map this paper, 87.72% known within high zones, indicating conclusions article more accurate line actual situation. Results collapse-related hazards can provide relevant guidance preventing controlling risks posed affecting Mountain.

Nutrient cycling in an Alpine tundra ecosystem on Changbai Mountain, Northeast China

Nutrient availability regulates the responses of high-latitude ecosystems to climate change but nitrogen, phosphorus and sulfur biogeochemistry, especially, phosphorus and sulfur cycles, are poorly understood in Alpine tundra ecosystem. This study examines the cycling of nutrients in a 302-year-old Alpine tundra ecosystem in which litter has accumulated through compartment methods. Samples of t...

Long-term volcanic hazard assessment on El Hierro (Canary Islands)

Long-term hazard assessment, one of the bastions of risk-mitigation programs, is required for land-use planning and for developing emergency plans. To ensure quality and representative results, long-term volcanic hazard assessment requires several sequential steps to be completed, which include the compilation of geological and volcanological information, the characterisation of past eruptions,...

Hazard potential of volcanic flank collapses raised by new megatsunami evidence

Large-scale gravitational flank collapses of steep volcanic islands are hypothetically capable of triggering megatsunamis with highly catastrophic effects. Yet, evidence for the generation and impact of collapse-triggered megatsunamis and their high run-ups remains scarce or is highly controversial. Therefore, doubts remain on whether island flank failures truly generate enough volume flux to t...

Assessment of secondary neutron dose due to dental restorations in head and neck radiation therapy

Introduction: One of scientific concern is increasing of unwanted neutron dose to the patient, in head and neck radiation therapy due to the presence of some isotopes in dental restorations and head of medical linac. The aim of this study is to measure the equivalent dose of thermal and fast neutron due to head of Siemens Primus Linac and a healthy tooth, Amalgam, Ni-Cr alloy a...
